           BIO

          Ewa Morawska is Professor of Sociology and History at the University of Pennsylvania.

          Among her areas of research interests are immigration/ethnicity in a historical & comparative perspective, urban and community sociology, East European studies (historical and contemporary), historical sociology, and qualitative/ethnographic research methods.

          She received MA degrees in both history and sociology from Warsaw University and her Ph.D. in Sociology from Boston University.
